How to Make One-Pot Kadhi Chawal

Step 1: Prepare the Kadhi Mixture

  1. In a large bowl, combine the curd, besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt.

  2. Whisk until smooth and lump-free.

Step 2: Prepare the Tempering

  1. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.

  2. Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

  3. Once they begin to crackle, add the curry leaves and dried red chillies.

  4. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 3: Cook the Kadhi & Rice

  1. Pour the prepared curd-besan mixture into the cooker.

  2. Stir continuously for 2–3 minutes.

  3. Add the soaked rice, remaining salt, and water.

  4. Mix well.
