What is Onion Laccha Paratha?

 

A layered Indian flatbread where a stuffed roti is cut into strips, rolled into a spiral, and cooked till crispy—giving it those signature flaky layers.

 

 

Main Ingredients:

 

  1. Atta (whole wheat flour) – 2 cups
  2. Onion – 1 (thinly sliced)
  3. Paneer – ½ cup (grated)
  4. Green chillies – 1–2
  5. Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  6. Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  7. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  8. Salt – to taste
  9. Ghee – for cooking

 

 

How to make Onion Laccha Paratha

 

  1. Knead atta with water into a soft dough and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.

  2. In a bowl, mix sliced onion, grated paneer, green chillies, coriander, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and salt.

  3. Roll the dough into a thin roti. Spread the filling evenly. Cut into thin strips.

  4. Stack and roll the strips into a spiral (like a wheel). Flatten gently and roll out again.

  5. Cook on a hot tawa with ghee till golden, crispy, and cooked through.
