Uses / Health Benefits:

  1. Corydalis is said to be beneficial for the Central Nervous System. It can relieve pain and provide feelings of relaxation (sedation). According to studies, the corydalis plant's alkaloid tetrahydropalmatine (THP) has been demonstrated to obstruct dopamine receptor sites in the brain, which can result in sedation. Studies on animals have examined the calming and analgesic properties of Corydalis. Corydalis reduced chronic and persistent pain as well as depression in rat trials.
  2. According to studies, Corydalis can have reduce peptic ulcers, which are lesions on the stomach lining, in animals. In animal models, it defended liver function, presumably because of the plant's alkaloid/THP concentration.

  3. Protection in animals against coronary heart disease, irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias), and heart attacks. In mice, it caused mice's blood vessels and tissues to relax, lowering blood pressure and heart rate.
  4. According to laboratory tests, the chloroform extract from Corydalis yanhusuo may have antibacterial and antifungal properties.
