Medicinal use of Gorakhmundi in Ayurveda:
Ayurveda says that all parts of a plant can be used as medicine. They are used to treat jaundice, hemicranias, cough, leucoderma, hepatopathy, hernia, gastropathy, and urinary discharges that are not normal.
Aside from this, it is also used for indigestion, helminthiasis, asthma, loose breasts, dysentery, haemorrhoids, spleen diseases, vomiting, skin diseases, pain over the uterus and vagina, pain in the rectum, and dyspepsia.
The application from the outside Gorakhmundi plant pastes are used to treat edema, itching, filariasis, arthritis, gout, and cervical adenopathy. Gorakhmundi is used in Unani medicine as a laxative, a tonic, an emmenagogue, and to make people hungrier.
It is also used to reduce inflammation, improve blood quality, cool the brain, give the eye lustre, treat jaundice, sore eyes, gleet, hot urine, boils, biliousness, ringworm, scabies, and other conditions.
Health benefits of Gorakhmundi
Gallstones: Gorakhmundi is a very helpful treatment for uterine and other vaginal diseases, even if you don't have stones or gallstones.
Eyes: Gorakhmundi is used as an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) and ophthalmology (Eye) folk remedy for a number of problems. When eaten over time, it can help your eyesight. Put three or four fresh Gorakhmundi flowers in a bowl with two teaspoons of sesame oil. If you drink it regularly, it will help you see better and keep your eyes from getting red.
Naru Disease (Guinea Worm Disease): Grind the leaves of Gorakhmundi and put the paste on the affected area. You will feel better and the disease will go away in a few days, depending on the severity. Vata disease: Take a mixture of Gorakhmundi powder, ghee, and honey in the morning and evening to treat Vata diseases. You can also take equal amounts of Gorakhmundi and Saunth powder in hot water to get rid of common vata pain.
Leprosy: If you have leprosy, mix the powder of Gorakhmundi and the powder of neem bark into a decoction and drink it in the morning and evening.
Gonorrhoea: Consuming the Gorakhmundi powder is very good for discharge (gonorrhoea) and other diseases related to metallurgical diseases.
Boils or itching: Gorakhmundi can help a woman with vaginal pain, itching, or boils. To use, grind the seeds of Gorakhmundi, mix them with the same amount of sugar, and drink the mixture once a day with cold water.
Sexual power: Gorakhmundi leaves and roots mixed with cow's milk can boost sexual power when eaten at night. Powder can make them stronger if they use it often.
If you have haemorrhoids, mix Gorakhmundi powder with honey or whey and eat it. If you have haemorrhoids, you will feel better in a few weeks.
Pile: Take the Gorakhmundi stem and root, dry them, and grind them into a powder. If you take one teaspoon of powder with whey every day, the piles will go away for good.
Infections from parasites in the intestines: The root of Gorakhmundi can also help with bugs in the stomach.
Syphilis: Dry the Gorakhmundi plant, grind it into a powder, add a little water, and apply it once a day to the affected area.
