Kaempferia Parviflora - Health Benefits, Uses and Important Facts

Kaempferia parviflora (KP), a herb that is good for your health, has been used for centuries to treat a wide range of illnesses. Pharmacological studies have shown that KP and its main active methoxyflavones have many benefits, such as regulating cellular metabolism, fighting cancer, relaxing blood vessels and protecting the heart, improving sexual performance, protecting the nervous system, fighting allergies, inflammation, and free radicals, treating osteoarthritis, killing bacteria, and letting drugs pass through the skin. The cGMP-NO signalling pathway may be turned on and the mitochondria may be working better.

What is Kaempferia Parviflora?

Kaempferia Parviflora is a root plant that is said to be an aphrodisiac and a glucose supporter. Also kown as back ginger, it is the root of a flowering plant. Until you cut it, it looks just like regular ginger. This spicy root is deep purple, almost black, on the inside. It does turn a darker charcoal colour when it dries. This is where the name comes from.

The Zingiberaceae family plant Kaempferia parviflora (KP) or Krachaidam is native to the north and northeast of Thailand. The rhizomes of KP, which are also called "black ginger," are often used as health-boosting herbs and have been used traditionally as a folk medicine to treat a wide range of conditions, such as inflammation, ulcers, gout, colic disorder, abscesses, allergies, and osteoarthritis.

Health benefits of Kaempferia Parviflora:

Energy: Studies have shown that Kaempferia Parviflora can give you more energy and make you feel less tired. This superfood has an enzyme called AMPK that helps the body use glucose better.

Antioxidants: Kaempferia Parviflora, like its relatives ginger and turmeric, has strong antioxidants that help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.

Getting rid of extra weight: An improved metabolism can help in other ways. When combined with a healthy diet and exercise, better glucose burning can help people lose weight.

Endurance: Antioxidants and improving your metabolism can work together to help you have more endurance and stamina.
