How to Make Choco Lava Cake Bombs

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together:

    • 1 cup milk

    • ½ cup oil

    • 1 tsp vinegar

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • ½ cup sugar
Mix well until sugar dissolves completely.

  2. Sift in the dry ingredients:

    • ¼ cup cocoa powder

    • 1 cup maida

    • ¾ tsp baking powder

    • ¼ tsp baking soda

    • ¼ tsp salt
Fold gently to make a smooth, lump-free batter.

  3. Grease the appe pan thoroughly.

  4. Spoon a little batter into each mould (about ½ full).

  5. Place one small piece of dark chocolate in the center of each mould.

  6. Cover with a little more batter to seal the chocolate inside.

  7. Tap the pan lightly to remove air pockets.

  8. Cover the appe pan and cook over low flame for 10 minutes.

  9. Uncover and check for doneness using a toothpick (outside should be set).

  10. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Expert Tips

  • Use a good quality dark chocolate for a molten center.

  • Keep flame very low to avoid burning the base.

  • Do not overfill the moulds—leave room for rising.

  • Batter should be thick but pourable.

  • Add a pinch of instant coffee for enhanced chocolate flavor.
