Dahi aloo is a delicious potato dish from India that is perfect for any occasion. This dish is made with potatoes that are simmered in a yogurt and spice mixture, and then served with a dollop of yogurt on top. Potatoes - 5-6
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
Curd - 3 tbsp
Chopped green chili - 2
Ginger garlic paste
Wash 5-6 potatoes and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Peel and cut them into half.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
Add the boiled potatoes and fry for two minutes.
Add salt, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp red chili powder. Fry for another two minutes. Take it out and keep aside.
Take 3 tbsp curd in a bowl.
Add salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 1/2 tbsp coriander powder and 1 tsp cumin powder.
Mix everything well and keep aside.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan.
Add 1 tsp cumin seeds and 2 chopped green chillies. Let them sizzle.
Add 2 chopped onions. Sauté until it turns light golden.
Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste. Sauté until the raw smell goes away.
Add the prepared masala paste. Mix it well.
Cook the masala for 5 minutes.
Add 1 tsp garam masala powder and mix well.
Add water and mix.
Let it boil.
Add the fried aloo and mix.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Add chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
Serve hot with roti or paratha.
