What is Oyakodon?
A traditional Japanese rice bowl dish where chicken and egg are cooked together in a light soy-based sauce—simple, quick, and deeply satisfying.
Main Ingredients:

Chicken breast – 1 cup (cubed)

Onion – 1 (sliced)

Eggs – 2–3

Soy sauce – 2 tbsp

Mirin – 1 tbsp

How to make Oyakodon

Heat oil in a pan, add cubed chicken and sear till lightly golden. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add sliced onions and cook till soft.

Add soy sauce, mirin, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer.

Return the chicken to the pan. Pour beaten eggs over and cook gently till just set like a soft omelette.
