Red Velvet Cupcakes

Flour - 2.5 cups

Castor Sugar - 1.5 cups

Baking Soda - 1 tbsp

Salt - 1 Tbsp

Cocoa Powder - 2 tbsp

Vegetable oil - 1.5 Cups

Butter milk - 1 Tbsp

Eggs - 2 Eggs

Super Red Gel Colour - 2 Tbsp

Vinegar - 1 Tbsp

Vanilla Extract - 1 Tbsp

In the cupcake universe, everyone needs a good red velvet cupcake. I guarantee that someone you know loves red velvet. Sure, you can use a cake mix for their birthday, or spend an arm and a leg at a cupcake shop, but when you can make a dozen easy red velvet cupcakes from scratch in under an hour at your home, why not try it?


1) Mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder.

2) In a separate bowl, beat together silt buttermilk, eggs, food colouring, vinegar and vanilla.

3) Add the dry mixture spoon by spoon to the egg mixture until it gets smooth.

4) Bake for 20 - 22 mins at 180 degrees.
