Broccoli and Corn Bread


A fast bread with Native American origins, cornbread is baked with cornmeal and is a staple of Southern American cooking. It is a type of bread made with batter. Baking powder is frequently used to leaven contemporary versions of cornbread. A broccoli cornbread combines cornmeal flavour with the benefits of broccoli and additional chopped onions.

    How to make Broccoli and Corn Bread?

    1. In a bowl take the maize flour and refined flour and crack in two eggs.
    2. Season the flour with salt and pepper.
    3. Add in the chopped broccoli and onion.
    4. Add in all the spices.
    5. Start whisking it all together while adding in water to make a thick batter.
    6. Pour the batter in a loaf tin and bake at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
    7. Demould and let it cool before slicing.

     

    Expert Tips

    1. Season the batter sparingly.
    2. Chop the broccoli and onion to a fine consistency or they might feel unpleasant to the palette.
    3. Make sure to preheat the oven before baking.
