The butterbur plant is scientifically known as petasites hybridus. It thrives in moist woodland soil, wet marshland, or along riverbanks. Migraines:

Butterbur is most frequently used to treat and prevent headaches and migraines. Petasin, a key ingredient in butterbur, is known to have anti-inflammatory and other properties.
