What is Almond Cranberry Granola?

Granola is a common breakfast item, made by roasted or baking rolled oats with a sweetener and some flavouring. In this recipe we have accompanied the oats with some chopped almonds and dried cranberries. In some recipes people also add some refined flour to make a more crispy and bonded final product.

How to make Almond Cranberry Granola

  1.  In a large bowl add the rolled oats, crushed almonds, dried cranberries and a pinch of salt. Mix everything together with a spatula and set aside.
  2. In a trivantage milk pan add the honey, with some vanilla and heat it lightly on medium low till the honey melts and becomes loosened up. Pour the loose honey into the bowl of oats and mix them so that the oats are completely coated with the honey.
  3. Spread the oats evenly on  a non-stick tray. Top them off with some more dried cranberries. Bake them in a preheated 200 degree oven for 14-16 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Once out of the oven, let them cool completely. Once cooled, transfer the granola into an airtight acrylic container and store them at room temperature for 2-3 months.

Expert Tips

  1. Make sure the almonds aren't crushed too finely or they will burn easily.
  2. Heating the honey loosens it up so that it can easily be mixed with the oats.
  3. If you want you can even add fresh cranberries once baked.
