How to make Chickpea Burger ?
1) Take a cup of chickpeas and blend them into a paste, to that add chopped garlic, green chilli and ginger. Mix it all together.
Suggested cookware for the recipe
- Make sure to blend the chickpeas into a fine paste without any big chunks remaining.
- Do not leave out the cornflour, as it is necessary for the binding.
- A chickpea burger takes more than the usual meat burger to grill so be patient with that.
A healthy and delicious vegetarian burger patty, ready in just 10 minutes with simple and easily available chickpeas.
Boiled chickpea : 1 cup
Chopped garlic : 4 cloves
Chopped Green chillies : 2
Chopped ginger : 1 knot
Chopped parsley : 1 tbsp
Chilli flakes : 1 tsp
Onion powder : 1 tsp
Smoked paprika : 1 tsp
Salt : to taste
Pepper : to taste
Tahini paste : 1 tbsp
Cornflour : 2 tbsp
Oil : to sear
Take a cup of chickpeas and blend them into a paste, to that add chopped garlic, green chilli and ginger. Mix it all together.
Season the mix with all the fried herbs and spices. Also add the tahini paste and cornstarch. Mix it together into a thick mixture.
Form the mixture into two burger patties. Drizzle some oil on a hot grill pan and grill your burger patties for 2-3 minutes on both sides.
Place the burger in between two burger buns with some sliced onions and tomatoes, with some mayonnaise spread on both the sides.
Chickpea patties come very close to the classic falafels from the middle east, so you can accompany them with a good tzatziki dip. It is made with hung curd, garlic, cucumber, lemon and salt and pepper, everything mixed together.
